Nada mucho

Wow, it has been 10 days since our last entry. We have been busy with our social calendars trying to keep up. Since we couldn't bring a camera to most of the outings, we will describe them the best we can.

Last weekend:
Friday night was the 30th anniversary of Joel Nelson's birth. A day which we have been trying to get onto the world calendar (but to no avail) for the past 5 years. Oh well. Greg and Nicole were nice enough to host the bash at thier new pad. Luckily, no hotdogs, chips, carrots, garlic cloves, beer, simpson figures, bobbleheads, mcfarlane figures, dvds, and books were misplaced. And for the record, the guys won in trivial pursuit, yet again.

Saturday was Scott Carter's last day of manhood. Kevin hosted the bash at his place for a little BBQ, and then off to Gabe's for a few rounds. After Gabe's we hit up Midway Stadium for a little Saints baseball where we got "The Fridge" to bless Scott and Jennifer's wedding. $10 well spent!

Sunday was a day of recovery for Ryan, while Alicia went to the Hoopstertag ski show.

This week, Ryan had more softball as the team he subs for played in the league tournament. Being the #9 seed (of 9 teams) made the tourney an uphill battle as we had to play the play in game. The team won it's first game, then drew the #1 seed SEH. SEH ended up falling to the cinderella #9 seed, in what some people dubbed as the greatest moment in Hallberg Sports history. But, as tradition held, the Hallberg team lost the semifinal game.

Wednesday, we aquired another game room possession.... air hockey. Now our cabin has ping pong, foos, darts, and air hockey. We think we will be spending more time indoors now, than outdoors.

Spoonbarf!

Wow.... this weekend was turn back the clock weekend at the cabin. Greg, Nicole, Ryan, Cindy, Scott, Jason, Erica all made the trek up north to the lake this weekend for some good ol' fashion fun. Consumption of libations was the standard for the weekend, as most pictures will show. Greg turned out to be a thirfty shopper, as you can see by this $2 hat he picked up at the Cloquet Walmart. A cross between Arnie Palmer, and Gilligan if you ask me.

Friday was a great kick off to the weekend. Most people made it up before 10pm, so the party got started early. A little POP5 (pop culture board game), a little beer….and the tomfoolery had begun.

Carter also showed off his newly acquired saddle bag..... compliments of beer and softball.

Beer pong (the old throwback) was played on friday night too... Mark will be jealous... The first guy is Ryan Hoops, he beat me (as seen in the second picture) to my demise. I sure ticked off a few ants that night. Third pic is Greg in a fierce dual with Saddle Bag Scott. Nicole, Alicia, and Cindy were spectating.

Then, the Tomfoolery and Skullduggery began.....Carter and Greg both had raging clues. And Greg's clue made Carter get a clue. Spoonbarf!

Saturday was the day at sea. A late morning breakfast, a little beer ball, and in the water by noon. Here we see Ryan, Scott, Erica, and Cindy sunning themselves on the trampoline, waiting for the second shipment of the Armada.

Here we see Ryan and Scott taking a beating from Alicia and Cindy in Foosball. And Erica trying to not beat Jason too bad in Ping Pong.

And finally, after a long, hard weekend of enjoyment, Greg relaxes in the swing chair, while a sunburned Scott sits in pain.

On tap for this week:

Hopefully a response from the Salty Bees

Last co-ed softball game

Carter's last manhood day

Ah, the 4th of July. 231 years ago, a bunch of uppity rebels decided they should bite the hand that fed them. Well, more like the hand that fed their ancestors, and then let the ancestors to colonize America. Then, to pay homage to the Monarchy, the American colonials decided they didn't need to deal with a tyrant anymore, and tried to break from the English motherland. The King wasn't so happy with the rebels and waged a battle. Many lives were lost, but in the end a new idea was found. The idea wasn't an original one, but just a twist on what Romans had done earlier. The Republic..... anyhow, long story short, we celebrate our rebelious spirit and our spunk with blowing up fireworks, BBQing, and usually fishing. So, Happy Birthday America.....

Last week-ish, we spent plenty of time up north. Cleaning, landscaping, fishing, swimming..... the good stuff. We did manage to land a few lunkers this weekend......

We promptly fileted these giants and sent them to ruwanda.... to do our part. This weekend also saw the launch of the infamous red dragon. The maiden voyage was a quick dash to one end of the lake, with the pontoon providing support in case the red dragon went wild.

This week- Alicia will be working, and patroling the fort, while Ryan plays softball, and the rare summer floor hockey.

This weekend- Friends Weekend at the Cabin. Drinking, Swimming, Fishing, a solid good time for all. Hopefully this year people will learn how to slide down the waterslide, and how to actually jump on the water trampoline.

Cobblers at the cabin...

Last weekend was one of the nicest weekends we have ever experienced at the cabin. A comfortable 80 degrees, with a nice breeze, blanketed out weekend with comfort. And for some reason, the moon was bigger and brighter than normal. See...

And of course, the cobblers were up this weekend..... Sophie and Greta went fishing and pulled in some lunkers. Luke did the honors for Greta's fish.

And as you can see, this is what we have in store for us next weekend. Yep, the banister is going to be assembled. As you can see, we are doing the whole thing ourselves, so stain, poly, cutting, drilling, and bolting will all be done by us.

On tap for the week..... work for a few, and then back up north to do work, and see "the works".
