Those bells haven't rang in years! What does the mean?

Sorry for the long time since our last post. Things have been busy, not nothing of real importance. Well, besides our friends Beth and Jesse making the shack up permenant. They did that on saturday at a park in Rockford. A beautiful park with tons to do, which is why it was a great place for a reception. Some shoes, a little golf, frisbee, and croquet were on hand for some festivities. Drinking was the main game of the night though.

On tap:
tons of stuff :)

Another one bites the dust!

This weekend our friends Scott and Jennifer got hitched. Ryan and Scott have known each other since 8th grade when they played basketball together. Then football, softball, broomball, and ultimate frisbee (football for girls). Scott was also the unlucky person who got to travel with Ryan for 22,000 miles as they went around the country attending baseball games. Poor guy! Anyhow, he got married this weekend, and Ryan was standing up. Here are some pics…. As you can see, there was an open bar….

Ryan after a long day of ushering, pyrotechnics, standing, carrying stuff, dancing, and drinking.

Sunday was a recovery day since two days of drinking really takes a toll now. We did a little shopping to get a few more things before we go on vacation, and then watched TV all night. Only 10 more days until we are off!!!

We also got news that they are moving the road at our cabin! This is something we have been wanting for the past two years, and now we will have a little more privacy!

This week, dinner with the Hoops, and then our friend Beth gets married….

Happy Anniversary, and birthday!

Yesterday we had our one year anniversary. We actually kind of spread the occassion over the weekend since our plans had a few hiccups in them. First, saturday was a day of softball for Ryan. 4 games over 6 hours in the hot sun of Bloomington! Ryan got a little sun burn since he never brings sunscreen, lesson learned (again). Saturday night was finally had a chance to eat the pesto we bought while were in the Cinque Terra, Italy. Delicious pasta, with some wine that we picked up while on the coast... a great night...

Sunday, we woke up, had a little breakfast, and of course some buttercream cake...

Cookies and cream, just like on our wedding day. We have plenty of cake, so come on over if you want some.

Also on Sunday morning, we got the news that our newest niece was born. Allison Danielle was born August 12, at 1:39am... here she is shortly afterwards.

Here is Allison with Auntie Alicia...

Return of the Aunts!

Wow, what an odd week. Highs, lows, new things, old things....
On the job front, Ryan's company got bought out by the parent company, so many changes are in store. We will keep you posted, but office relocation is coming...

Wednesday we had the Hoopstertags, and Melissa and new guy over for a nice dinner. Alicia made the meal, delicious as always. Unfortunately, the tragic events of that day over shadowed the evening. The 35W bridge which Ryan takes to and from work collapsed about 30 minutes after Ryan passed. Luckily, all of our friends did not get hurt in the accident, and everyone was safe.

This weekend brought the return of the aunts to the cabin. We had bought the cabin from the aunts 3 years ago when the situation presented itself. The cabin has been a big part of Alicia's family for years, and having the aunts come up to visit is a treat. This year they got to get thier first glimpse of the garage-mahal with all the fun inside. The aunts seemed to enjoy the place greatly and the gameroom was a hit with all ages. Plus, we added our newest feature, the air hockey table! Some how we are going to have to fit two boats in the garage still....
